ESDP Seminar held in Dubrovnik

ESDP II – “The EU’s Foreign and Security Agenda and the Western Balkans” took place 3 to 5 November 2006 in Dubrovnik.

On 3 November 2006, a joint seminar of the EU ISS – Paris and its partner institutions from the Western Balkans: IMO – Zagreb, ISAC Fund – Belgrade and CSS – Sarajevo, entitled “The EU’s Foreign and Security Agenda and the Western Balkans”, was held in Dubrovnik. This event was organized with the support of Croatian and Austrian MFAs and the Heinrich Bцll Foundation.

Taking into account the increased need in the Western Balkans for intensive debate and information on the EU’s global role and challenges it faces, the seminar aimed to continue and expand the discussion on the future of EU’s Foreign and Security Policy in the changing world, the principal points on the EU’s foreign and security agenda, achievements and prospects of ESDP, as well as the challenges of the EU enlargement in the Western Balkans.

The seminar brought together academics, think-tank experts and officials from across the EU and Western Balkans states.

This event was a follow-up of the first regional seminar on ESDP, supported by GMF – Balkan Trust for Democracy and Friedrich Ebert Foundation, co-organized by the ISAC Fund, IMO and CSS, and hosted by the ISAC Fund in Belgrade from 26 to 29 March 2006.
