New Edition of Disinfo Radar: Watch and Warn – October 2026

he October 2026 edition of Disinfo Radar: Watch and Warn, a regional publication monitoring disinformation narratives and risks in the Western Balkans’ information space, has been published. The new edition provides an overview of current disinformation risks across the region, including the situation in Serbia ahead of the parliamentary elections scheduled for 25 October 2026.

The analysis highlights how irregularities in the voter register could become a source of disinformation ahead of the elections. Media reports about large numbers of voters registered at addresses without a street name or house number have brought this issue into focus. Voter registers in southern Serbia and voting abroad have also attracted attention.

There is a risk that these cases could be presented as evidence of systematic manipulation of the electoral process. Such narratives could encourage the rejection of election results and deepen ethnic tensions. They could also further undermine public confidence in electoral institutions.
