Everyday Extremism in Serbia: Between Democratic Protest and Political Polarization

The publication “Everyday Extremism in Serbia: Between Democratic Protest and Political Polarization” analyzes how polarization, distrust in institutions, and “us versus them” dynamics are shaped within everyday political discourse. Based on qualitative research, the study shows that extremism is not necessarily a marginal phenomenon, but a process that develops through everyday interactions and citizens’ perceptions. Particular attention is given to the role of protests, youth political engagement, and attitudes toward institutions.

In 2023, the ISAC Fund joined the Horizon Europe research project OppAttune as a partner organization. The project tracks the evolution of extremist ideologies, develops innovative prevention models, and provides evidence-based recommendations to strengthen democratic engagement and trust in institutions.
