ISAC Fund organized a working breakfast with colleagues from the media to discuss the current state of the European integration process of Serbia and the Western Balkans region, in the context of new geopolitical circumstances and the evolving dynamics of EU enlargement.
The discussion addressed the significance of so-called “non-paper” documents that have emerged from various European political centers in recent months, indicating attempts to redefine the approach to enlargement. Ukraine and Moldova currently enjoy strong political support from Brussels, primarily for strategic and security reasons, which sets them apart from the Western Balkan countries that have long been part of the accession process. The conversation also touched upon the realistic prospects for Serbia to open Cluster 3 in its negotiations with the EU.
The working breakfast was organized with the aim of fostering an informed and evidence-based public debate on the future of Serbia’s European integration, as well as shedding additional light on key challenges and opportunities in the period ahead. ISAC Fund will continue to organize similar events in order to strengthen dialogue among the expert community, decision-makers, and the media.
