Announcing the Conference “Japan – EU trade relations: What can Serbia learn from this partnership”

In 2018, after lengthy and comprehensive negotiations, the European Union and Japan have signed and ratified Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), which was also coupled with the Strategic Partnership Agreement. The EPA entered into force on February 1st, 2019 creating the largest open trade zone in the world. This represents an important milestone for both the EU and Japan, in the time when the values and rules of global trade are being questioned. Furthermore, this new agreement should also have positive ramification for all EU associated states and partners.

With that in mind, ISAC in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Serbia is organizing an international conference “Japan – EU trade relations: What can Serbia learn from this partnership” on February 28th, 2019 at the Radisson Collection Hotel in Belgrade. The conference will analyze the expected effects of the afore mentioned agreement. In addition, the conference focuses on its potential effects to Serbia and further deepening of relations with Japan.

Speakers in the panels will be well renowned experts, professors, and practitioners from Japan, the EU and Serbia. We are looking forward to welcoming our conference participants at this very distinct and prominent event!
