ISAC Fund proudly announces the second updated edition of The Guide to the Stabilization and Association Agreement
In this significant moment for the integration process of Serbia, marked by the signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement with the European Union, the ISAC Fund is proud to announce the second updated edition of its publication – The Guide to the Stabilization and Association Agreement.
The first edition of the Guide through the Accession to the European Union, published in February 2007, was quickly distributed to different public and government institutions, as well as to individuals and the NGO sector. Taking into consideration the large demand for this publication, but also the fact that, since the first edition was written, many facts and figures regarding the European integration process of Serbia have changed, it was only natural to publish the second edition of the Guide, updated with the latest information regarding this process.
Although the recent signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement with the European Union represents a significantly important integration step of Serbia, the majority of the Serbian public actually knows very little about the essence and the effects of this Agreement. Therefore, it is crucial to engage and inform the Serbian public on this corner-stone issue, in order to develop their understanding, build an informed public debate and aid Serbia’s Government in its efforts to win the public’s support for this important process. It is precisely for these reasons that the very aim of this Guide is to communicate information about the European Union and the Stabilization and Association Agreement to both the general and professional public.
Taking into consideration that this original publication, written in the Serbian language and carefully adapted to the needs of the national audience, will be distributed free of charge – it is our hope that it will make it available to a considerable number of our citizens and in that way influence raising public awareness about the necessity and benefit of an overall reform and integration into the European Union.
