GUIDE TO THE PARTNERSHIP FOR PEACE
2nd Edition

“The Guide to the Partnership for Peace” was originally published in 2007 in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, and produced with the kind support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The updated second edition was made possible due to the kind donations from the Canada Fund and the Canadian Embassy in Belgrade as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The second edition of the guide will be distributed, in part, with the magazine Odbrana, a monthly publication of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia.

Bearing in mind the fact that the membership in the PfP represents a significantly important integration step of Serbia, it is essential to engage and inform the Serbian public on this corner-stone issue, in order to develop their understanding, build an informed public debate and aid Serbia’s Government in its efforts to win the public’s support for this important process. It is precisely for these reasons that the very aim of this Guide is to communicate information about PfP to both the general and professional public, and help all those interested in PfP to find out more about the programme itself, and – more specifically – about Serbia’s own role in this programme.

A team of seven researchers worked for almost a year to produce this original publication written in the Serbian language and carefully adapted to the needs of the national audience. It is our sincere hope that this guide will be made available to a considerable number of our citizens and, in that way, positively influence and raise public awareness about the necessity and benefit of an overall reform and integration into European and Euro-Atlantic framework.
